The Continuation of Chaos

Yep. Chaos returns to the front lines once again. I've always had a soft spot for the fell powers of Chaos in the 40k universe. And what better way to express those feelings then to start painting up a whole new lot of Marines. Above you'll find my progress on the Terminator Lord.
A unit of Chosen with a Champion and Chaos Lord leading the pack. I'm pretty much running a unit of these guys as is out of the Dark Vengeance box. I really dig the more vicious and daemonic look of the figures now. Some don't care for it (I agree they can be 'busy'). But the overall look lends itself to the fluff GW is attempting (not so successfully) to overlay the Chaos Space Marines these days. I'm a fan.
Even more fun are the standard Chaos Marine unit I'm building. Hoping to outfit these guys so that they can represent any cult unit I desire from game to game. I chose the new Raptor box to build these. I've always favored the flying models of most ranges and these were easy to convert and make them a ground troops looking like they are truly getting to grips with the enemy.
The Unit Champion w/ Power Fist and Plasma pistol. Punch and range. I'm sorta still working on my 'power' effect on my power fist but its fine for the time being.

I must say I'm a fan of much of the new range. Chaos is different now and I'm happy to approach it in that fashion. Either way, it has certainly sparked my painting drive again. I'm cool with that. Vehicles to come.
